Coming Soon: Facelifted 2013 Lexus RX450h Will Debut Next Week in Geneva

With the new Lexus GS on sale and the company keen on refreshingmost of its models this year, it was about time to meet an updated 2013 RX. Thankfully, Lexus has delivered a teaser photo of the new RX and promised the model will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show.

The RX is finished with Lexus' signature hourglass/spindle grille, which will likely continue to all of the company's other refreshed models this year. The front end will also feature the company's signature LED running lights – which happen to be shaped like the letter L, of course. The rest of the RX might not be visible in Lexus' teaser photo, but full shots of the crossover,  which were previously available through a leaked promotional brochure, suggest little else has changed.

There will be two models that will premiere at the Geneva Motor Show: the facelifted Lexus RX450h, and a new RX450h F Sport spin-off. Lexus hasn't shown exactly what the F Sport RX will feature, but if it fall in line with other F Sport models, we’d expect to see some sportier exterior styling touches, a few suspension changes, and unique different interior trim.

We’ve little reason to believe there’s much new underhood. If so, the RX450h will continue to utilize a 3.5-liter V-6 and a pair of electric motors (three, if fitted with all-wheel drive). Presently, that system delivers a net 295 hp, although there is a chance that figure could grow, especially for the F Sport package. A similar system employed in the 2013 GS450h sedan cranks out nearly 338 hp; we think that extra power would be perfect for the sportier F Sport package.

We'll hear more about this model next week when it hits the floor in Geneva. For more on the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, including videos, the latest photos, and more information, click here to visit our 2012 Geneva Motor Show homepage.
