The 2014 Jaguar F-Type roadster may be out of the bag, but the British automaker is still putting the finishing touches on another sporty offering. We caught the Jaguar XFR-S on the Nurburgring a few months ago and it has reappeared yet again, this time with a large spoiler on its trunk. Otherwise, this test mule is almost identical to the previous one we reported on. Continuing with the back end details reveals a carbon fiber diffuser flanked by quad-tipped exhaust (and don’t miss the Nurburgring track sticker near the license plate). A lightly disguised body kit, large rims, red-painted brake calipers, and air vents mounted on the front fender round off the profile shot. Up front the prototype is sporting an aggressive fascia with large air dams and side vanes, similar to the ones found on the XKR-S coupe and convertible. Under the hood, it’s expected to get the same 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 found in the XKR-S and should produce the same or similar power figures (550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque). Performance figures aren’t out, but it’ll obvious run quicker than the 510-hp XKR, which has an estimated 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds. The XKR-S does the deed in just over four seconds. The big question is if the Jag sedan will have enough juice to keep up with its German competitors including the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and 2013 BMW M5, both of which achieve sub-four second 0-60 mph times.
