Caught! Camouflaged Infiniti G Sedan in Germany

A camouflaged Infiniti G sedan was recently spotted testing in Germany near the Nürburgring. Although the car was covered in heavy camouflage, some of the brand’s design characteristics give away the car’s identity. The new Infiniti G sedan appears to have grown a bit compared to the current model.

When the current Infiniti G sedan went on sale in the 2007 model year, it performed well with us saying that "In its chassis tuning, its tightened embrace of technology, and--if you load up on all the new options--its price, the G35 is, more than ever, a Japanese 3-series" With several of its key competitors updated or redesigned since then, the Infiniti G is due for an update. The short-lived Infiniti G25 came was intended to increase sales by lowering the entry price. Though that model was discontinued for the 2013 model year, sales of the G lineup (sedan, coupe, and convertible) have remained steady, with 46,052 units sold through the first eight months of 2012, compared to 43,383 units in the same period last year.

While engines for the new model haven’t been confirmed, the new G could use a Mercedes-Benz engine in addition to a revised version of the company’s 3.7-liter V-6, thanks to a recent deal signed between Renault/Nissan and Mercedes. The new Infiniti G sedan is expected to debut sometime next year with coupe and convertible models to follow. Europe could also see a wagon version though not likely to make it to the states.

What do you want to see from the next-generation Infiniti G sedan?
