A 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a camouflaged front clip has been caught testing. Jeep's premium SUV is preparing for interior and exterior revisions in the 2014 model year, as well as a drivetrain update.
While the Jeep brand’s signature seven-slot grille remains, the one on the Grand Cherokee prototype appears slimmer than the current model’s grille. Headlight housings seem to be unchanged, but the sheetmetal below the grille now curves upward toward the headlights, instead of stretching straight across the front of the SUV.
We expect to see Chrysler’s Uconnect Touch infotainment system with the 8.4-inch screen on the production-ready versions of the face-lifted SUV, which should also benefit from an available eight-speed automatic transmission. The current, 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a V-6 and five-speed automatic in rear-drive form gets an EPA-rated 17/23 mpg city/highway and one fewer mpg in the city for the four-wheel-drive model.
