Caught: 2014 Ford Fiesta Spied with Minimal Camouflage

The 2014 Ford Fiesta is set to debut later this year with styling reminiscent of the new 2013 Fusion. A spy photographer recently managed to catch a new 2014 Fiesta sedan testing with no body cladding, providing us a good idea of what the next Fiesta will look like.

Without the body cladding up front, we can clearly see that the 2014 Fiesta has a baby 2013 Fusion vibe. The car’s reworked headlights subtly mimic the Fusion's, while its grille looks to be an almost direct transplant of the Fusion's Aston-Martin grille. The front end shots reinforce our guess that the 2014 Fiesta may move the optional LED running lights mounted below the headlights to a new set integrated into the headlights.

Around back this 2014 Fiesta sedan sports a trunk with a new integrated lip spoiler. The rear bumper also looks to be squarer than before, while the taillights also receive a Fusion-like appeal. The funky multi-color door handles won't make it into production.

Given Ford's engine downsizing trend, the U.S.-spec 2014 Fiesta is likely to be powered by the EcoBoost 1.0-liter turbocharged I-3, producing around 125 hp and 147 lb-ft of torque. The Fiesta's current 1.6-liter I-4 makes 120 hp and 112 lb-ft of torque, and receives 29/39 mpg city/highway in regular 2013 Fiesta models and 29/40 mpg in SFE trim.

The 2014 Ford Fiesta is expected to debut this fall at the Los Angeles auto show.

Why do car companies insist on poisoning the styling of new, larger models by slapping the look onto their older, lesser models? Who's going to buy a new Fusion when it looks like a Fiesta?
What're you talking about? I'm not a particular fan of the Fiesta sedan cause it's too skinny and too tall, but Ford is not making boring cars. I have an '08 Focus SES sedan that I love. The Forte isn't bad looking but I'd much rather have a new Focus hatchback or an Optima. Just because you think you know everyone's opinion you should realize that you're actually wrong. I hope Ford keeps up the good work and also makes the butt on that Fiesta lower or wider somehow.
Awesome! another 4 door automatic tranmission car from Ford! Wait till I tell my 20 and 17 year old about this I'm sure they will want me to get them each one! (Sarcasm). Ford better start thinking abiut the Kia Forte koupe because that's where the youth will be going, not some shrunken down version of the boring thing they (and Myself) they have been subjected too.
