Car Thief Taunts Police in Stolen Porsche by Hooning in Police Parking Lot

The thief of a 2003 Porsche 911 taunted Methuen, Massachusetts police by doing donuts in the police station’s parking lot—twice early Friday morning. Like the 911 (similar to the one pictured above), a 1999 Mercedes-Benz and 2003 Land Rover were also stolen from the Salem, New Hampshire repair shop.

At around 4 a.m. Friday, just two hours after first doing donuts in the parking lot, the Porsche 911 returned to the scene of the hoon to have more fun. This time a nearby officer attempted to follow the stolen Porsche, but lost sight of it during a chase. Minutes later the police department received a tip about a Porsche that had rolled. When police arrived, however, the driver was gone.

Like the Porsche, the missing Mercedes and Land Rover were taken from inside the shop’s garage, without keys left in the ignition. We spoke to a Methuen Police Department spokesman, who told us the case is still under investigation and they were pursuing several leads.
