The practice of giving free performance driving seminars with the purchase of a performance car isn't anything new, but we do like the tactic dreamed up by Nissan's British sales wing:; Buy a 2009 GT-R, and learn to master the Nurburgring for free.
That gift comes by means of Nissan's new Race Academy program, eligible to those who've a GT-R (or two) on order.; After plunking down cash for the car, each "future owner" is then treated to a day of driving instruction at the Nurburgring in Germany.
In addition to a host of different driving sessions (including drifting lessons in a 350Z), customers will be given 45 minutes behind the wheel of the GT-R.; That's plenty of time for at least a few laps of the 'Ring, seeing as Godzilla made its way around the track in 7:29...
As fun as it sounds, the Race Academy isn't quite "free" - participants have to foot the bill to get to and from the Nurburgring.; We think that cost would be worth it, but there's always the option of a similar program hosted at Britain's Silverstone for the budget-minded racer.
