Build Your Own 2012 Hyundai Veloster, Fully-Loaded at $23,685

A fully-loaded 2012 Hyundai Veloster, the automaker’s upcoming front-wheel drive coupe, will cost you $23,685, inclusive of the $760 destination fee. That’s $5,625 more than the $18,060 base price announced last week.

Options and packaging for the 2012 Veloster are simple and straightforward. The configurator starts you off with two transmission choices, a no-cost, six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox for an extra $1250. Next up are the paint choices, though none add any extra cost to the car -- even unique hues like Electrolyte Green or 26.2 Yellow.

Two package choices take up a bulk of the additional costs, starting with the $2000 Style Package which includes 18-inch wheels, a chrome grill, piano black interior accents, a panoramic roof, premium audio, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and leatherette door inserts. The Tech Package is also $2000 and includes unique 18-inch wheels with painted inserts, backup sensors, navigation with backup camera, auto headlights, and proximity keyless entry with push-button start. Accessories such as wheel locks and floor mats range from $50-95.

Opting for the base model Veloster, however, will still get you a lot of car for the $18,060 entry price. Standard features include six airbags, ABS, a tire pressure monitoring system, a 7-inch touchscreen (with RCA jacks for connecting video game consoles), Bluetooth phone connectivity, and Hyundai Blue Link, the automaker’s new telematics and connectivity system.

And Fords suck...I don't care how great they look and perform now. Those 3 years of reliability don't make up for 40+ years of suck. There's a reason we all have acronyms for F.O.R.D (Found On Roadside Dead or Fixin' On Ride Daily).
Even at $23,700, it's still almost $2000 cheaper than a similarly-equipped Focus. You can spend $8000 on Focus options. Ford STILL charges $500 extra for some paint colors, which is ridiculous.
