Buick Teases 2013 Encore Crossover Before Detroit Unveiling

This is the first official photo of the new 2013 Buick Encore, a small, premium crossover vehicle that will make its world debut at the Detroit North American International Auto Show come January.

At this stage, Buick is saying very little about the Encore, noting only that it will “offer contemporary Buick styling, signature QuietTuning technology, and segment-leading content and space.” From what we’ve heard, the Encore slots beneath the larger Enclave within Buick’s portfolio. If so, both four-and six-cylinder engine options will likely be available.

It’s hard to glean much from a single image, but from what we can tell, the production vehicle may differ considerably from the Envision concept shown earlier this year at the Shanghai Motor Show. While that vehicle featured razor-sharp edges from head to toe, the Encore instead seems to adopt a softer, gentler form.

There’s a good chance you’ll see more before the 2013 Encore is officially revealed, as Buick plans on publishing a teaser image each week on its Facebook page. Stay tuned for more on the Encore, along with all the latest news and debuts from this year’s Detroit show.

why cant we have the engine options in the buick that europe gets? why no regal tourer? why no zafira tourer? why no astra tourer? they are so damn cool. and that doesnt even begin to mention that the holden impala would make a great halo car for buick. the cars are out there, if the rest of the world likes and buys then why cant we have the choice? they dont look like gussied up chevys which is even better.
