If you’ve got such a large family that a minivan just won’t suffice, Nissan has an answer. For 2012, the company is launching a new version of its NV commercial van fitted with up to 12 seats. The NV3500 HD Passenger Van goes on sale in spring 2012.
At 240.6 inches long and 84.0 inches tall, the NV3500 HD is a seriously sized van. For comparison, the Passenger Van is three feet longer and nine inches taller than Nissan’s Quest minivan -- which only seats seven. Like other models of the NV commercial van launched last year, the passenger model can be equipped with a 261-hp, 4.0-liter V-6 engine or a 317-hp, 5.6-liter V-8 engine. Both send their power to the rear wheels by way of a five-speed automatic transmission.
The enormous cabin features four rows of seats that can accommodate up to 12 people. The seats can be rearranged to the owners’ desires, with a claimed 324 interior configurations possible. Passengers receive plenty of 12-volt power outlets and dome lights, as well as between eight and ten cupholders depending on trim level.
The NV3500 HD will be offered in S, SV, and SL trim levels; the top-spec models feature creature comforts like parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, navigation, Bluetooth, and more. The van will be sold to both individuals and fleet customers, but we imagine fleet buyers will make up the bulk of sales.
