British luxury marquee Bentley has appointed David Hilton as its new Head of Exterior Design. Hilton has won multiple international awards for his design work, and has extensive experience at other major automakers. In addition to working on Bentley designs, Hilton may also be tapped to style vehicles for Volkswagen Group sibling brand Bugatti.
Hilton has worked as a designer for Ford based in both Detroit and Germany, for Mazda in Japan, and even at Volkswagen's South American division in Brazil. His extensive resume also includes a stint as chief designer for Ford Racing, and over a decade running his own automotive design company based in Europe.
"With such vast experience and creative design talent, David will be a huge asset to the team at Crewe," Bentley director of design and styling Dirk van Braeckel said in a statement. "His proven creative excellence will undoubtedly help us build on our current highly successful model line-up and enhance the appeal of Bentley cars to our customers world-wide."
Hilton replaces former Bentley designer Raul Pires, who left the British company in late 2011 to work for Italian design studio Italdesign.
