Automobile Magazine: 2012 Year in Review

amag-happy-holidays

With the close of 2012, we mark the completion of Automobile Magazine's 26th year. Those of us here at the magazine had quite a year with the usual slew of new-model introductions, globe-trotting travel, and the day-to-day operations involved in putting out a magazine, an iMag, and a website. Check out some of our more notable statistics from the inner workings of Automobile for a little light-hearted, New Years' fun.

While we may have driven countless miles, we were able to tally up some of our traveling around the world and around the corner:

  • Total number of gallons of gasoline used: 20,484.897 gallons
  • Total cost of gasoline in 2012: $81,095.54
  • Staffers who flew the most: deputy editor Joe DeMatio, senior editor Joe Lorio, senior editor Eric Tingwall

Joe DeMatio 11 128,788 29
Joe Lorio 14 102,000 56
Eric Tingwall 16 123,197 44

Upkeep of our Four Seasons fleet also took up a fair bit of our time in 2012:

2012 was also a big year for us socially, and not just because we were able to get away from our desks for more than picking up lunch. We embarked on an expansion of our social media networks and have collected quite a number of friends, fans, and followers:
  • Facebook friends: 53,515
  • Twitter followers: 8821
  • Instagram fans: 850
  • Pinterest followers: 237
