If you own a racing team interested in competing in the SRO GT4 European Cup, Audi has a TT for you. Audi unveiled the race-bred, TT GT4 at this year's Shanghai Round of DTM Racing. The GT4 cup is meant for racing versions of road-going GT cars that range from Lotus Exiges to Porsche Caymans.

The specialized Audi uses a stiffened TT body with a full cage, fuel cell, carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic body panels and plastic windows. Audi didn't specify whether a four- or five-cylinder engine will be used, but it will definitely be a 340-horsepower TFSI unit. Surprisingly, the TT will be front-wheel drive only and use Audi's S-tronic DSG transmission with a limited-slip differential

Suspension will consist of a modified version of the factory components with the addition of adjustable dampers at all four corners. Wheel width is up considerably from the factory size at 9.5-inches, while diameter is a conservative 18 inches.

Right now, Audi says the TT GT4 is just a concept, but all the info we've seen points to a green light for production. Should that happen, the car's price will likely be set at 120,000 euros, or just under $160,000. There are no plans to sell the car in North America at the moment, but if a series is able to accept it, the TT GT4 could likely be brought into the U.S. -- albeit strictly as a race car.
