Audi A8 L W12 Exclusive Packs Even More Luxury Within

The 2014 Audi A8 L W12 is already a well-appointed and exclusive sedan, but for ultra-luxury shoppers or captains of industry wishing their twelve-cylinder Quattro super-sedan had a little more pizzazz within – not to mention a little more exclusivity – Audi has this: the new A8 L W12 Exclusive.

Italian furniture maker Poltrona Frau supplied the Agatha cognac-colored aniline leather for the Audi A8 W12 Exclusive concept, which is used to cover seating surfaces, center console and armrest, door trim, and lower dashboard. Diamond-quilting features prominently on the center sections of the natural-looking seats, while silver-brown wood made from fine grain olive ash trim is inlaid into the center console, door panels, and dashboard. Granite gray piping and stitching balances the warm tones in the central pleats of the seats, steering wheel, and upper area of the Nappa leather-fitted instrument panel. Snow white and cognac brown Alcantara on the headliner and rear shelf, respectively, add the finishing touches the exclusive model.

As luxury automakers have recently expanded into more mainstream markets in pursuit ever-higher annual sales (think Audi A3 and Mercedes CLA250), many have speculated that the trend potentially dilutes the luxury and prestige of high-end brands. With these 50 cars, Audi demonstrates that it also can build vehicles of the highest quality and luxury for its most elite customer base.

The German automaker is building just 50 units with this decadent interior. All vehicles will be long-wheelbase A8 L models equipped with Audi’s 500-hp, 6.3-liter W12, and each will have a special logo built into the door sill trims. Production is slated to begin in March 2014, but Audi representatives tell us none will be sold in North America.
