We already know that Lincoln is poised to redesign most of its model range, but the American luxury automaker has released a teaser shot of an upcoming models to get its fans excited. As Lincoln itself said in the photo caption, “now it gets interesting.”
The shot is pretty shadowy, but clearly shows the front hood and quarter panel of a new car, as well as the bottom of its windshield. Seeing as the headlight portion of the car is almost completely blacked out, we wouldn’t be surprised if Lincoln used a bit of Photoshop to keep their model secret and enthusiasts a little bit in the dark.
That would have worked, until we had a good look at some recent spy shots of the upcoming Lincoln MKS that we published a few days ago. We’re no Hardy Boys, but we’d hazard a guess that this mystery model, with its creased hood and more prominent character line running down the side, is none other than the new MKS.
We haven’t heard much about if the new MKS will get powertrain changes, but the current model features either a 3.7-liter V-6 rated at 273 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6 that is good for 355 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Both engines have a six-speed automatic transmission. Inside, expect Lincoln’s newly upgraded MyLincoln Touch system to make an appearance as well.
