2016 Audi A6 to Arrive with Updated Styling, New Technology

#Audi, #A6

Audi has announced that the Audi A6 will be refreshed for the European market this upcoming model year, with revised styling, engines, and added technology features. Almost all of the changes, including new technologies and the visual update, will come to the U.S. version of the 2016 Audi A6, but the car will keep its existing line of powertrains.

The 2016 Audi A6 will hit U.S. streets with a modernized look to match its new technological capabilities, adopting many of the familiar Audi cues featured on the latest Audi TT. The A6 adds the trapezoid-shaped singleframe grille, angular headlights, restyled bumpers, intakes, side sills, taillights, and integrated dual exhaust ports seen on other Audis, bringing the large sedan up to date with the rest of the lineup.

Audi previously announced that certain 2015 Audi A6 models would add standard equipment, while the Premium Plus and Prestige packages were set to include more features as well. Now, the 2016 Audi A6 will gain optional ventilated and massaged seats, an automatic tailgate, and an updated MMi infotainment system. The MMI system available in the 2016 Audi A6 continues to offer Google Maps navigation and a touchpad controller, as well as LTE Internet connectivity and streaming apps, but it now has a more powerful processor. Driver assistance systems continue to include adaptive cruise control, radar-based side monitoring, lane-keep assist, and a night vision camera.

Powertrain options will carry over from the existing car to the 2016 Audi A6. Engines include a 2.0-liter turbo-four (220 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque), supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 (310 hp and 325 lb-ft), 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 (240 hp and 428 lb-ft), and a turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 (420 hp and 406 lb-ft), while transmissions comprise a continuously variable transmission and an eight-speed automatic.

It’s still too early for an official U.S.-market release date or pricing for the 2016 Audi A6, but Audi of America officials say more details are forthcoming. The 2015 Audi A6 starts at $44,800 including destination, when equipped with the base 2.0-liter turbo, front-wheel drive, and continuously variable transmission.

Tsk,tsk, tsk, so much negativity. Audi is the inventor/creator of both front-wheel drive (1931) AND all-wheel drive (1980). It stands to reason that they would offer the car in both platforms. This is the internet folks, a little research goes a long way!The color is Nogaro Blue. It is not a standard color on the A6 color palette but, it looks good on just about any Audi you choose to put it on.

Bahahaha! Love it. So true.

Somehow Audi has built up enough brand cachet that they can get away with selling a FWD vehicle in this class/market.

Umm let me drive one for six months and i will tell ya. Ha
Ditto, and the exterior design is so dull.  As I always surmise, Audi is very adept at grafting and modifying the front and back ends around the same ol' greenhouse for all its models.

Time for a new styling direction.
