2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Wagon Spied

Our spy photographer recently caught a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class wagon prototype testing in Germany. While we don’t expect the wagon bodystyle to come to the U.S., the C-Class sedan and coupe will return along with the new convertible variant.

While the new C-Class convertible prototype featured a mesh grille, likely to throw off spy shooters, the C-Class wagon prototype has a blacked out version of the C-Class sedan's two-bar grille with large center emblem. Through the camo, we can see the C-Class wagon's rear door is more upright near the C-pillar where it meets the cargo area side glass. The wagon also appears to have a small hatch wing above the rear glass.

Like the C-Class sedan, coupe, and convertible bodystyles, we expect the wagon to feature the same engine lineup including a turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4,the GLK's 2.1-liter turbodiesel I-4 as well as a hybrid powertrain and an AMG version. All-wheel drive will also be available. Mercedes is investing heavily into its American assembly plant in Alabama to add production of the next-generation C-Class.

While we expect to see the C-Class sedan and coupe (including the new convertible) to return to the U.S., it's unlikely the wagon variant will follow. If sold in the U.S., the Mercedes-Benz C-Class wagon would compete with the Audi Allroad and BMW 3 Series wagon. Should the Mercedes-Benz C-Class wagon be sold in the U.S.? Share your thoughts below.

seems every time a wagon comes out we never see it......I do not want to spend 100k on the e class 63....the caddy V while cool, sucks gas, and I already did the G wagon(the corner fuel station assigned a special lane just for me)....

Why oh why can't we get a decent wagon here?
@Kenneth Herbert Couldn't agree more. There are none,  why, because most brands figure they will lose volume on their SUVs and thus leaving us with no choice. I don't like SUVs of any type and I am not going to plunk down $30 to $50k on something I don't like period.
