2015 Lexus GS F Spied Lapping the 'Ring

#Lexus

Thanks to spy photographers, we now have a better idea of what the upcoming 2015 Lexus GS F will look like, as a prototype was caught testing at the Nurburgring wearing no camouflage.

The GS F surprisingly looks toned down compared to the boisterous IS F Sport, which wears a much more exaggerated version of the signature spindle grille that stretches all the way down to front valence. Instead, the GS F stays true to the GS F Sport's styling with the grille and valence separated by a piece of plastic. The mesh grille remains, though it doesn't look as bold as it's smaller cousin. While the GS F also has the same LFA-like air dams found on the RC F, the coupe's aggressive styling cues like the hood scoops and the side air vent aren't transferred over to its larger, four-door sibling.

Around back, we're not surprised to find the GS F has the stacked quad exhaust tips, rear diffuser and a rear spoiler. The prototype's black wheels also look familiar, since they appear to be the same ones found on the RC F coupe we've spied before.

Although the GS F's exterior styling makes it look mellow compared to the RC F and the F Sport models, its powerplant won't suggest the same thing. While the RC F coupe may use a turbocharged V-6 or an updated version of the IS F’s V-8, the GS F could possibly get a detuned version of the LFA’s 552-hp 4.8-liter V-10 or a turbocharged V-8 that produces north of the RC F's rumored 450 hp. Either way, we know we're in for a treat with the GS F, since we're already smitten on the GS F Sport, which finished first in a four-way comparison involving six-cylinder midsize luxury sedans.
