The 2014 Kia Sedona got the most modest of updates. It's no surprise, since our spy photographers caught the all-new 2015 Sedona testing in Europe, and it looks much more stylish that the current box on wheels.
While there isn't a lot that Kia's designers can do with the Sedona's overall minivan shape, we can make out more defined shoulders, a big greenhouse, and a large grille. The latter item looks downright massive and should help to balance out the visual mass of the 2015 Sedona; the grille is flanked by headlight clusters that stretch back to the car's corners and have projector bulbs, which will probably help to lend a more upscale feel to the people mover. Speaking of upscale touches, the sideview mirrors are adorned with LED turn-signal repeaters and there is a set of horizontal LED taillights around back. The new Sedona's sliding doors look huge, and there seems to be an upkick in the daylight opening aft of the C pillar.
Expect the 2015 Kia Sedona to offer seating for up to eight, a smattering of cupholders, and a plethora of family friendly technology throughout the cabin. While our shooter wasn't able to catch a glimpse of the new interior, we're sure it will move well upmarket in a similar fashion to other recent new Kias.
No word on what will power the 2015 Sedona. The current model – which initially went on sale in 2006 and was updated for both the 2011 and 2014 model years – is powered by a 269-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Pricing for the 2014 Kia Sedona, which went on sale this spring, starts at $26,750. Expect to see the 2015 Sedona make its official debut sometime in 2014.
