2014 Toyota Tacoma Priced From $18,735

After a minor refresh in 2012, the Toyota Tacoma sails into 2014 with minor equipment changes and a slight price bump, according to a Toyota statement. The two-door regular cab now starts at $18,735 with destination, $250 higher than last year. There is also a new SR appearance package available for 2014 along with a newly available Entune audio system, and the sporty Toyota Tacoma X-Runner is dead for 2014.

The 2014 Toyota Tacoma is available in three cab configurations: the $18,735 Regular Cab, the $21,375 Access Cab, and the $23,485 Double Cab. While the Regular Cab is only available with a 2.7-liter four-cylinder with 159 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque, Access Cab and Double Cab models can be saddled up with a 4.0-liter V-6 producing 236 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. All three cab configurations offer a choice of rear- or four-wheel-drive; four-cylinder models get a choice of a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic, and the V-6 can be paired with a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic.

The new SR appearance package is available on Access Cab and Double Cab base and PreRunner models and adds exterior-color fenders, door handles, bumpers, grille surround, and mirrors along with smoked headlight lenses and 16-inch “Baja” wheels. The 2014 Toyota Tacoma’s optional touchscreen audio interface gains Toyota’s Entune smartphone integration, which includes support for mobile apps and services like navigation and traffic.

The 2014 Toyota Tacoma competes in the dwindling midsize pickup segment, where its only true competitor is the 2013 Nissan Frontier, which starts slightly higher at $18,850. Look for the 2014 Toyota Tacoma to hit dealerships later this fall.
