2014 Nissan Sentra Priced From $16,800

The 2014 Nissan Sentra received a handful of mechanical changes for the new model year, but receives only mild price increases compared to last year's version of the compact sedan. Pricing for the 2014 Nissan Sentra ranges from $16,800 (including an $810 destination charge) and extends to $20,400 for the fully loaded SL trim level.

Changes for the new model year include new insulation and seals to keep the cabin quieter, a faster steering ratio and reprogrammed electric power steering for better feel, thicker anti-roll bars and new suspension springs, and new programming for the continuously variable transmission. All versions of the 2014 Nissan Sentra come with a 130-hp 1.8-liter inline-four engine and front-wheel drive.

The above base price is for a 2014 Nissan Sentra S with a six-speed manual transmission, while every other version of the Sentra comes with a continuously variable transmission. Stepping up to a Sentra S with the CVT raises the sticker price to $17,600. Moving up to the Nissan Sentra S FE+, which has specific modifications to boost fuel economy ratings from 30/39 mpg (city/highway) to 30/40 mpg, costs $18,000.

The 2014 Nissan Sentra SV adds cruise control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, an alarm, better cloth seating material, and a six-speaker audio system (versus the four-speaker system on the Sentra S). It costs $18,300 as standard or $18,700 with the FE+ efficiency package.

The 2014 Nissan Sentra SR wears sportier 17-inch wheels, special front and rear fascias, new side skirts,a small trunklid spoiler, and a chrome exhaust tip. Additional equipment includes silver interior trim pieces. The sporty-looking model costs $19,500. The top-of-the-line Sentra SL is $20,400. That price brings equipment like 17-inch wheels, automatic headlights, foglights, heated mirrors, push-button start, Bluetooth, satellite radio, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control.

The 2014 Nissan Sentra is on sale now.
