2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible Premiere Edition Announced

Just like it did with the Corvette Stingray Coupe Premiere Edition, Chevrolet is launching a special 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible Premiere Edition to commemorate the launch of the new car in early 2014. This special edition Corvette Convertible will be limited to 550 units, all of which receive a special trim package and a unique VIN designating the cars as the Premiere Edition.

All 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible Premiere Editions will be finished in the Corvette’s Lime Rock Green exterior color, which will combine exclusively with a Brownstone suede interior. The interior is also trimmed with numerous suede and carbon fiber accents, and the softtop is beige, providing a nice contrast with the dark green paint. Special chrome wheels exclusive to the Premiere Edition have a Stingray logo in the center cap.

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible Premiere Edition isn’t just an appearance package, though, as all Premiere Editions are equipped with the Z51 Performance Package, which adds a performance suspension, performance brakes, a limited-slip differential, and Michelin Pilot summer tires. Premiere Editions also receive Magnetic Selective Ride Control shock absorbers and a performance exhaust that adds 5 horsepower to the Corvette’s 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 engine, for a total of 460 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Since the Premiere Edition Corvette Convertible is based on the range-topping 3LT trim level, it includes luxury features like heated and ventilated Nappa leather seats, a leather-wrapped interior, a head-up display, and navigation. On top of this, the Premiere Edition adds side sills with a Stingray logo along with a set of Corvette-branded Thule luggage.

All in, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible Premiere Edition costs $77,450 with destination. This may sound steep compared with the Corvette Stingray Convertible’s $56,995 starting price, but it’s only a few thousand dollars more than a comparatively trimmed Corvette Stingray Convertible 3LT with the Z51 performance package. The 550 units of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible Premiere Edition will go on sale in dealerships nationwide starting in early 2014.

the ghost of maximum Bob is alive and well at "Corvette"....now as hard as it may be to eschew profits and offer the hardtop and convertible with a comprehensive option " delete and build to buyers spec" feature...that is what will draw back those GM guys for life and complete this picture.

Something is lost in the new design with the drop-top model.  Maybe it's the color combo, but it looks just like the last gen Vette to me.

Thanks but no thanks. Now I like the new Corvette but the only "edition" I want to see is, the one that eschews all the weighty "luxo" stuff, and has 100 or more extra HP. Yep I am looking for a bona fide track monster... with an extra set of tires and wheels please.
