Cadillac has released more information on the XTS sedan, which gains a number of upgrades for 2014, most notable of which is a new twin-turbocharged V-6.

The six-cylinder in question is the same powerplant that will be found under the hood of the all-new 2014 Cadillac CTS. In the XTS, the twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 is rated for 410 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque; turbocharged XTS models will wear a revised grille and special "Twin-Turbo" badging. The base engine remains a 3.6-liter V-6 with direct injection good for 304 hp and 264 lb-ft. The only transmission option will continue to be a six-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive will, again, be standard across the XTS range, with all-wheel drive being an extra-cost option for both the naturally aspirated and twin-turbo engines. Fuel economy for the new engine has yet to be released, but the standard V-6 is rated by the EPA to achieve 17 mpg in the city and either 28 mpg (FWD) or 26 mpg (AWD) on the highway.

Other upgrades for 2014 include a new electric power steering system for front-wheel-drive models; thanks to the new EPS, non-all-wheel-drive cars will also offer an automatic parking system. Cadillac has also equipped the XTS with automatic high-beam headlights (called Intellibeam), front passenger seat memory, and a revised rear-seat armrest. There is also an available rear-seat entertainment system and a new opaque shade for the sunroof. Heated door mirrors with integrated turn signal repeaters are also now standard on all models.

Pricing hasn't been announced yet for the 2014 Cadillac XTS, but the 2013 model starts at $44,995 including destination. The 2014 XTS goes on sale this summer.

UPDATE: Cadillac has announced pricing for the 2014 XTS, which starts at $45,525 including destination. The XTS Vsport, which includes the twin-turbo V-6 starts at $63,020.
