With news this morning that the next-generation 2014 Chevrolet Corvette will indeed be shown in just a few short months, our spy shooter managed to snap more images of the C7 Corvette's all-new interior. Just as we guessed last time we saw the Corvette's cabin, it looks like the Vette will be heading up market.

This is far from the first time we've seen the 2014 Corvette out testing, but that makes a lot of sense given that we now know that the C7 will make its official debut on January 13, 2013 at the start of the Detroit auto show. We've now gotten a look at the dashboard of the Corvette, which will move away from the squared-off shapes of past Corvettes in exchange for a more severe, angled design. The hood over the gauges now extends to encompass the center stack HVAC vents and appears to then plunge toward the center console; the gauges look to be set deep within the binnacle, but we can't see if there will be any trick technology or if they are standard dials. The overall look and feel of the dashboard seems fairly reminiscent of the Audi R8 interior, from the triangular vents with an infotainment screen directly beneath to the premium-looking stitching on the dashboard. The 2014 C7 Corvette won't just be drawing inspiration from the R8, however – when we last spotted the interior, it was clear that the Corvette's designers looked to the Lamborghini Aventador when designing the seats.

We also have a good look at the C7 Corvette's new steering wheel. It's hard to tell what version of the Corvette is being tested here, but the wheel is wrapped in a faux-suede-looking material like the current ZR-1, which is better at keeping hands dry during hard driving.

As we've learned from past sightings of the 2014 Corvette, the exterior design will be true to the Corvette formula – maintaining the long and low hood with a rounded cabin and short deck lid, despite being slightly smaller than the outgoing C6 Corvette. Under the hood, expect to see an all-new 5.5-liter version of Chevy's small-block V-8 engine complete with direct injection. The eight-cylinder will likely be tuned to produce around 440 hp – 10 more hp than the current 6.2-liter V-8 – and send its power to the rear wheels through either a seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.

Take a look at the spy shots below and stay tuned for more news on the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette as its debut on January 13, 2013 draws closer.
