The Acura RDX transformed from a sporty turbocharged crossover to a more middle-of-the-road six-cylinder crossover -- and buyers have responded. For the 2014 RDX, Acura has increased prices by $200 across the line, with a base model selling for $35,415 including destination.
The only difference between a 2013 RDX and a 2014 RDX is that a Kona Coffee exterior color replaces Amber Brownstone. Otherwise, all 2014 RDX drivers continue to get a 273-hp 3.5-liter V-6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. If you need higher capabilities than the $35,415 front-drive 2014 RDX can provide, all-wheel drive is available for $1400. Standard equipment on all 2014 RDXs include a multi-angle rearview camera, hands-free keyless access with push-button start, leather seats, heated front seats, a moonroof, and a 360-watt sound system with Pandora radio and SMS text messaging features.
Most 2014 Acura RDX buyers are likely to choose the front- or all-wheel-drive model with the $3700 Technology package, which includes a navigation system, premium sound system, HID headlights, power-operated liftgate, and front fog lights. The 2014 RDX with the Technology package costs $39,115, and $40,515 in all-wheel-drive form.
Considering the RDX was Acura’s best-selling model in March, a $200 price bump probably won’t negatively affect sales. Like the RDX, the new 2014 Acura MDX will offer a front-drive model to allow for a lower base price. The 2014 Acura RDX is on sale now.
