The Problem: Some of the four bolts securing the propeller shaft to the automatic transmission may not have been properly tightened on some all-wheel-drive 2014 Acura MDX models during manufacturing. Over time these bolts could loosen and then eventually fall off, which would cause the propeller shaft to disconnect from the transmission assembly. This event could also cause damage to the fuel or exhaust systems, as well as creating a whole lot of unsettling noise -- and potentially causing problems accelerating.
The Fix: Acura will contact owners, and dealers are instructed to inspect and if necessary replace the bolts free of charge.
Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 19,197 2014 Acura MDX crossovers with all-wheel-drive.
