Chrysler officially announced pricing for the all-new 2013 SRT Viper this evening. According to the manufacturer, base 2013 SRT Viper coupes will start at $99,390, including $1995 in destination fees.
As we reported earlier this morning, the base Viper is a no-frills, no-nonsense car tailored more for traditional Viper clientele. Manual, cloth-trimmed seats are standard, though leather-trimmed manual buckets are optional. Floor mats aren’t standard equipment, but are available at no extra cost. An optional touring package adds niceities like a cupholder insert for the center console, a rear backup camera, and an upgraded touchscreen audio system that provides navigation and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
Those same features are standard on the upscale 2013 SRT Viper GTS model, along with a host of other premium features designed to help Chrysler’s supersnake appeal to buyers looking for a little more sophistication.
2013 Viper GTS models gain additional NVH insulation, a 12-speaker audio system in lieu of the base 9-speaker system, standard floor mats, power bucket seats, and Nappa leather applied to virtually every interior surface. GTS models also gain two-mode adjustable Bilstein dampers, along with stability (ESC) programming with four modes (i.e. full on, sport, track, and full off). As we previously reported, sport mode raises the threshold of system intervention, while track keeps yaw-control limits intact but fully turns off the traction control.
This extra content does add a sizable chunk of change to the Viper’s price tag. Chrysler says 2013 Viper GTS models will retail for $122,390, including destination. Buyers can further dress up their GTS interiors with an optional premium interior package, which adds an Alcantara headliner, “SRT Laguna Premium” leather trim and seating surfaces, and unique interior trim finishes.
Three option packages are available on both the 2013 SRT Viper and the 2013 Viper GTS. The carbon fiber interior package adds interior trim crafted from the composite material, while the matching carbon fiber exterior package applies carbon fiber to the front and rear brake ducts, rear diffuser, and – on the GTS – rear fascia applique. A SRT track package adds slotted, lightweight two-piece brake rotors, ultra-lightweight track wheels, and sticky Pirelli P Zero Corsa soft compound rubber.
Pricing for those packages – along with a handful of stand-alone options – has not yet been announced. Chrysler also notes that, as the 2013 Viper is not yet EPA rated, a finalized gas guzzler tax remains to be determined. On 2010 Viper GTS coupes, gas guzzler tax ran roughly $1700.
