2013 Nissan Pathfinder Priced From $29,095 To $41,595

The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder will start at $29,095 (including an $825 destination charge) when it reaches showrooms at the end of October. That's $1020 cheaper than the base 2012 Nissan Pathfinder, even though the new three-row crossover has a broad list of improvements over the old model. The 2013 Pathfinder switches to a unibody construction that is lighter and more fuel-efficient than the old SUV.

All versions of the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder come with a 260-hp 3.5-liter V-6 engine, a continuously variable transmission, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a 4.0-inch color LCD screen in the instrument cluster. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional. Features included on higher trim levels include 20-inch wheels, an 8.0-inch touchscreen navigation system, leather seats, heated and cooled seats, Bluetooth, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, Nissan's AroundView Monitor 360-degree camera system, and a panoramic sunroof.

Pricing for the front-wheel-drive 2013 Nissan Pathfinder S starts at $29,095, the Pathfinder SV costs $32,355, the Pathfinder SL is $35,295, and the top-spec Pathfinder Platinum commands $39,995. Adding all-wheel drive costs either $600 or $1600 extra, depending on trim level. The all-wheel-drive Pathfinder S is $30,695, the Pathfinder SV is $33,955, the Pathfinder SL costs $36,895, and the priciest model is the all-wheel-drive Pathfinder Platinum, at $41,595.

The options list includes a $2650 SL Premium package for SL models, a $2300 Platinum Premium package for the Premium trim level, and a $400 Trailer Tow package for SV and SL models. Adding a rear-seat DVD player on any 2013 Nissan Pathfinder costs $1850, while roof cross bars are $300 and illuminated doorsill plates are $275.

Nissan expects front-wheel-drive Pathfinders to return 20/26 mpg (city/highway), and all-wheel-drive models to return 19/25 mpg. The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder goes on sale later this month.
