2013 Avalon Hybrid Is 25 Millionth Toyota Built In North America

A 2013 Toyota Avalon that rolled off the assembly line in Georgetown, Kentucky yesterday marked the 25 millionth vehicle that Toyota has built on North American soil since 1986. The milestone 25 millionth vehicle was a 2013 Toyota Avalon hybrid painted Classic Silver. The Toyota plant in Georgetown also builds the Camry, Venza, and Sienna. In total, Toyota has built 9.25 million vehicles at its plant in Georgetown; 5.8 million at the former NUMMI plant in Fremont, California; 3.24 million in Princeton, Indiana; 4.99 million vehicles in Cambridge, Ontario; 111,000 in Blue Springs, Mississippi; 336,000 in Baja California, Mexico; 806,000 vehicles in San Antonio, Texas; and 465,000 vehicles at the Subaru Indiana Automotive plant in Lafayette, Indiana. "Toyota's 25 millionth vehicle signifies the tireless work of thousands of Toyota team members, hundreds of North American supplier partners, and great dealers giving their best every day," Toyota North America manufacturing executive vice president Steve St. Angelo said in a statement. About 70 percent of all Toyota vehicles sold in the U.S. are built in North America, and the company directly employs 37,000 people on this continent.Toyota vehicles built here comprise the Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Matrix, Rav4, Sienna, Sequoia, Tacoma, Tundra, and Venza.
