Today at the 2011 State Fair of Texas, Scion introduced two new Release Series vehicles: the xD Release Series 4.0 (xD RS 4.0) and xB Release Series 9.0 (xB RS 9.0). The automaker also announced pricing for the two models that will begin arriving at dealerships in October.
2012 xD Release Series 4.0 The xD RS 4.0 comes is painted a Blizzard Pearl color with matching interior trim pieces on the center console, steering wheel and door panels. It also features a unique seat pattern with white stitching. Floor mats receive the white stitching treatment and the Release Series logo. Exclusive smoked platinum 16-inch alloy wheels round out the Release Series 4.0 changes.
Only 800 xD RS 4.0s will be built each featuring an individually numbered badge. Pricing for the latest xD release is $16,980 when equipped with the manual transmission and $17,780 when mated to the automatic transmission.
2012 xB Release Series 9.0 Scion’s xB is already on its ninth release and comes exclusively in Hot Lava paint color. It also features a unique black honeycomb pattern lower grill with a large Hot Lava “SCION” script incorporated in it. Front and rear Scion badges illuminate when the vehicle is unlocked with the remote keyless entry. On the inside front and rear seat covers are perforated synthetic suede featuring an embossed Scion logo and body-colored trim.
Scion will only build 1500 xB RS 9.0 models and each will come with an illuminated individually numbered badge. Manual equipped versions start at $18,840 and automatic equipped xB RS 9.0s start at $19,790.
Both models come with Scion Service Boost which covers normal factory-scheduled maintenance and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first). Scion also announced that all 2012 Scion models come with a Pioneer audio system with HD radio, and Bluetooth phone and audio streaming capabilities standard.
