This isn't the first time we've seen the all-new 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class being tested before its debut, but these new pictures do give yet another look at the third generation of the German automaker's best-selling SUV.
Last time we saw the M-class it was undergoing some requisite cold-weather testing in Europe, this time however the SUV is being put through an entirely different sort of testing. Based on Motor Trend's photographs taken in southern California, it appears the M-Class is being subjected to the daily urban drive cycle a large majority of its owners will most likely adhere to.
As was the case with the last example spotted undergoing testing, the M's new body panels and lighting are all very well hidden behind black vinyl camouflage. Although disguised, we again get a decent look at the overall shape of the SUV and its distinct lines. Different from the previous tester, this example is wearing a set of five-spoke wheels that appear quite similar to the rolling stock found on the current-generation model (and may very well be).
We're still not sure just when Mercedes plans to officially pull the covers off its popular SUV, but seeing as we hear the new vehicle will launch in time for the 2012 model year, we imagine a public debut is just around the corner. Until that happens, be sure to check out the new spy shots over at Motor Trend.
