2012 Chrysler 300S by John Varvatos to be Auctioned for Charity

#Chrysler

This past weekend, Chrysler sponsored the John Varvatos ninth annual Stuart House Benefit in Los Angeles, CA, where it unveiled a limited-edition 2012 300S sedan designed by John Varvatos.

The specially-designed 300S will be auctioned off online, with bidders able to enter the auction until next Tuesday, March 20. The reserve bid for the car is set at $48,546 and has not been met yet. Chrysler claims that the estimated value of the car is around $75,000; a normal 2012 Chrysler 300S retails starting at $34,395, including destination.

That extra coin comes from a host of fashion-forward upgrades designed by Detroit-born designer Varvatos. Outside, the special-edition 300S maintains the stock car's blacked-out head- and taillights covers and dark satin grille; however, the John Varvatos car wears custom 20-inch wheels with satin carbon finish. As to be expected from a clothing designer, almost all of the interior fabrics are customized: the seats and door panels are now dressed in woven black leather; the dashboard, armrests, and center console lid have been wrapped in black leather; there is a black two-tone leather steering wheel with a satin chrome accent ring; and there are satin chrome accents and flat woven Heather fabric scattered throughout the interior.

The proceeds from the car's sale will go to Stuart House, which is part of the Rape Treatment Center of Santa Monica that helps rehabilitate traumatized children.
