2012 Cadillac CTS Gains Touring Package for Non-V Models

For Cadillac CTS buyers who want the looks and luxury features of the go-fast CTS-V, but without the hefty upgrade in power and price, Cadillac is launching a new Touring Package. Available for non-V versions of the CTS sedan, coupe, and Sport Wagon, the new option bundle includes goodies like Recaro seats that were previously exclusive to the CTS-V performance cars.

There are two versions of the Touring Package, one for the 3.0-liter V-6 engine standard in the CTS sedan and wagon, and another for the 3.6-liter V-6 that is standard in the CTS coupe and optional elsewhere. The version for cars with the 3.0-liter engine adds 18-inch nickel-finish wheels; dual exhaust tips; a darkened front grille; HID headlights and foglights; suede trim for the seats, steering wheel, and shifter; dark wood interior trim; metal sport pedals; and the spoiler-style third brake light found on the CTS-V sedan and coupe. The package costs $2065.

The similar package for models with the 3.6-liter engine bundles Recaro bucket seats, suede trim for the steering wheel and shifter, dark wood interior trim, metal sport pedals, a dark front grille, polished 19-inch wheels, and the spoiler-style third brake light found on the CTS-V sedan and coupe. The package costs $2810.

“The new Touring Packages give CTS buyers access to some desirable V-Series elements, in a more-approachable format,” Cadillac marketing vice president Don Butler said in a statement.

As noted previously, the Cadillac CTS received a handful of equipment changes for the 2012 model year. The 3.6-liter V-6 engine was redesigned to offer 318 hp and275 lb-ft of torque, up from 304 hp and 273 lb-ft in 2011. Bluetooth connectivity is now standard on all trims, while rain-sensing wipers and a blind-spot warning system join the CTS options list. There also are three new colors: Opulent Blue Metallic, Black Diamond Tri-Coat, and Mocha Steel Metallic.

Prices for the 2012 Cadillac CTS sedan start at $36,790 (after an $875 destination charge), while the CTS coupe lists at $39,590, and the CTS Sport Wagon starts from $39,890.
