In advance of the 2012 A6 sedan's debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Audi has provided a 23-second teaser video. Despite the short video length, we can still make out a couple minor details about the new four-door luxury sedan.
One change that owners of the current-generation Audi A6 can appreciate about the new car is the 2012 A6's revised door pulls allowing people to grab from both above and below the handle. Otherwise, from what we can tell from this out-of-focus video, the A6 will offer large twin five-spoke wheels and vaguely resemble the new A8. A big, chrome-lined grille and LED daytime running lights will be part of the package, as well.
The new A7 Sportback's 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 making 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque will no doubt be offered as an option in the A6. Currently, the outgoing A6 offers a 3.2-liter V-6, a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 (300 horsepower, 310 pound-feet of torque), and a 4.2-liter V-8.
Fuel economy should improve from the current car, which starts at 21/30 mpg city/highway in front-wheel-drive 3.2-liter V-6 form and 18/26 mpg with the 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 and all-wheel drive. A bit later, a hybrid A6 is expected to launch. Before that happens, though, you can keep it right here for all your Geneva updates until the show starts in March.
