2012 Acura TL Pricing Starts At $36,465

#Acura, #TL

The 2012 Acura TL incorporates a host of changes for the new model year, but don’t expect to pay a significant premium for the upgrades. In fact, pricing for the 2012 TL starts at $36,465, roughly $300 more than the outgoing 2011 model.

That price, which includes $860 in destination fees, nets buyers an entry-level front-wheel-drive TL. Standard equipment includes a 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6, a new six-speed automatic transmission, heated front seats, a power moonroof, a USB audio input, and Bluetooth phone connectivity.

Stepping up to the Technology Package throws in Acura’s hard disk-based navigation system (now with a 60-gigabyte hard drive), premium Milano leather seating surfaces, keyless ignition and entry, a 440-watt ELS surround sound system, and roughly $40,195. The new Advance Package bumps the TL’s MSRP to $42,395, and adds blind spot detection system, ventilated front seats, and larger 18-inch aluminum wheels.

Those seeking a little extra power and performance will likely want to step up to the TL SH-AWD, which starts at $40,015. Not only does the SH-AWD toss in the larger 305-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6, but it also makes use of Acura’s sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, which can shuffle up to 70 percent of the engine’s power to the rear axle and, specifically, an individual rear wheel.

Opting for the Technology Package on the TL SH-AWD boosts the car’s price point up to $43,745, but it also allows buyers to opt for a six-speed manual transmission at no extra charge. For those seeking the ultimate TL, however, the SH-AWD with the Advance Package bumps the price up to $45,945. Content mirrors that of the front-wheel-drive TL Advance Package, albeit the 18-inch wheels are replaced with 19-inch rims wrapped in Goodyear Eagle RSA high-performance all-season rubber.

Look for the freshened 2012 TL to arrive in Acura dealers nationwide beginning March 18.
