After confirming it would build the Accord Crosstour earlier this year, Honda finally released photos of the production-spec 2010 Crosstour, whichwill go on sale later this year.
Honda calls the Accord Crosstour a CUV with “the refinement and efficiency of a premium sedan,” but we can’t help but draw a comparison to the Honda Accord wagon that disappeared from the U.S. market after 1997. Whatever you choose to call it, the Accord Crosstour will make a nice addition to the Accord lineup by giving families a vehicle that can haul their kids and luggage for a long weekend trip.
“Our concept is to broaden the appeal of the Accord lineup by leveraging traditional Accord strengths of fun-to-drive performance and handling while also adapting to dramatic shifts in the light truck marketplace,” said Erik Berkman, vice president of American Honda Motor Co. “The Accord Crosstour accomplishes that by offering a modern interpretation of CUV while integrating the refinement and efficiency of a premium sedan.”
The 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour looks to have combined the versatility of a hatchback with the looks of the now popular “four-door coupe.” A rakish roofline gives the car a distinct look.
Honda’s released few details on the Crosstour, but it is likely to offer some form of the company’s 3.5-liter V-6 and the all-wheel-drive system offered in the likes of the Pilot and Ridgeline (both Accord-derived vehicles).
