Atthe Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association yesterday, Chevrolet's Product Marketing Director Karen Rafferty revealedpricing for the 2010 Corvette Grand Sport and announced the production of the 1,500,000th Corvette.

The Corvette Grand Sport will start at $55,720 for coupe models and $59,530 for convertibles. Both prices include a $950 destination charge. The Grand Sport comes with the standard 6.2-liter LS3 engine, while adding a new stabilizer bar and shocks, stiffer springs, unique wheels, a removable roof for the coupe, brake ducts, and recalibrated gear ratios on Corvettes equipped with manual transmissions.

According to Rafferty, the Grand Sport's 0-60 mph time is 4 seconds. No on-sale date has been announced yet.

Rafferty also revealed that the 1.5 millionth Corvette rolled off the assembly line recently at the GM Bowling Green Assembly Plant. Like the first, 500,00th, and 1 millionth Corvettes, the 1.5 millionth Corvette is a white convertible with red interior and a black top. Those other milestones were struck in 1953, 1977 and 1992, respectively.

"The 1.5 millionth Corvette is a great example of how Chevy is America's Brand," Rafferty said. "For nearly 60 years we have built America's Sports Car, and this milestone is a solid proof point."
