Lexus isn’t the only automaker suffering from leaked information. The 2010 Audi R8 Spyder, destined for a formal introduction at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, had an impromptu reveal this afternoon ona number of impatient websites.
As had been expected, the R8 Spyder retains most of the R8’s sensuous styling cues, but abandons the charismatic side blades and visible engine to facilitate the drop-top design. Judging by the grille, wheel patterns, and rear fascia, this particular car is built off the new R8 5.2 FSI Quattro model, and some sources suggest the soft-top R8 will come only in 10-cylinder form.
We’ll know more come September 15, when Audi officially unwraps the latest chapter of its halo car at the Frankfurt motor show. Stay with Automobile Magazine for the latest news on the R8 Spyder and all the other news from the 2009 Frankfurt show.
