2008-2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Recalled For Clutch Failure

2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR front

The Problem: The clutch master cylinder in versions of the 2008-2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution equipped with a manual transmission may fail prematurely. If so, the clutch will be permanently engaged, which could prevent the driver from shifting gears or from slowing the car, increasing the likelihood of a crash.

The Fix: Mitsubishi will contact owners and replaced clutch master cylinders in affected models for free. Versions of the 2008-2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution with the optional dual-clutch automatic transmission are not included in this recall.

Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 10,474 2008-2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution sedans.
