The Problem: Models of the 2007-2008 Hyundai Entourage minivan sold or used in states that employ salt to keep roads free of ice may suffer premature rusting of the front suspension control arms. Eventually, the control arms can crack, causing a loss of control or a crash. This is the same problem for which the 2006-2012 Kia Sedona was also recalled, as the Hyundai Entourage was merely a rebadged version of the Kia minivan.
The Fix: Hyundai will inspect the cars' front suspension and either replace rusted components or apply rustproofing to components that are not yet corroded. The recall only applies to vehicles sold or currently registered in Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 15,500 2007-2008 Hyundai Entourage.
