1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Featured in Breaking Bad Being Auctioned

Attention fans of the TV series "Breaking Bad," if you've wanted to own a piece of this Emmy Award-winning series, now's your chance. The 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer featured in the series and driven by Skyler White, the wife of protagonist Walter White, is up for bid on entertainment auction site ScreenBid.com. The 22-year old Jeep is being offered at the starting big of $7125.

The vehicle is certified by Sony Pictures Entertainment as being the authentic vehicle used in the production of the series. The description lets prospective buyers know the vehicle does need a little TLC to get it up to top running condition. "The Jeep runs and drives, but leaks oil and has some paint bubbling and chipping." Although the Grand Wagoneer had a rustic, rugged retro look, even in the 1980s and early '90s when it was still sold new, its 5.9-liter, 360 hp V-8 produced only 144 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, in addition to getting an abysmal 11 mpg city and 13 mpg highway. No wonder Walter had money problems, most of his paycheck likely went in to filling the Grand Wagoneer's tank.

The final caveat to the ScreenBid offer is a 24-percent seller's premium, which, depending on how high the bids go, could tack on a substantial premium to the leaky, fading 22-year-old Jeep. But if owning a piece of TV history for one of the most awarded series in the modern era, a little over $7k may be a bargain.
