Volvo hasn’t stopped teasing its redesigned three-row crossover. The automaker has just released a new video showing off the 2015 Volvo XC90 navigating a dark road at night, highlighting the crossover's unique headlight design.
The short video shows the 2015 Volvo XC90 driving through a wooded area to a dramatic soundtrack. Just before the crossover is close enough to make out any details, the video ends abruptly with the reveal date of August 27, 2014 appearing on the screen. Earlier this month, Volvo teased the new XC90’s headlights with "Thor's Hammer" LED daytime-running lights. The automaker also revealed chassis and suspension details.
The 2015 Volvo XC90 will ride on the automaker’s new flexible SPA architecture and will feature a double wishbone front suspension and a new transverse leaf spring design in back. An optional five-setting electronically adjustable air suspension will also be offered.
An earlier video detailed the new XC90’s redesigned interior with ergonomic seats and roomier second- and third-row seating areas. Other interior features include a standard three-zone climate control system (a four-zone climate control system is available) and an advanced infotainment system.
Power will come from Volvo’s new family of 2.0-liter I-4 engines. A turbocharged variant will be the base engine, while a turbo supercharged engine with about 300 hp will be offered. The top powertrain will add a plug-in hybrid system for around 400 hp.
