2015 Chrysler 300 Spied

It's hardly surprising that our spy photographers caught a refreshed 2015 Chrysler 300 out testing. Chrysler's five-year product plan slides revealed the rear-wheel-drive sedan would be refreshed this year, and the change comes only months after the 300's platform-mate, the Dodge Charger, was refreshed. What is a surprise is that there appears to be a high-performance SRT version in tow -- despite Chrysler brand president Al Gardner saying the slow-selling 300 SRT might be discontinued.

The pair of 2015 Chrysler 300 sedans spotted here both sport prominent camouflage over their snouts, likely hiding new grilles and fascias, similar to the changes applied to the 2015 Dodge Charger. The car's front grille may be taller and more rounded than before. Based on the updates to the Charger, we can also expect improved interior materials for the 2015 Chrysler 300.

Standard powertrain choices aren't expected to change dramatically; look for the 2015 Chrysler 300 to continue offering a 292/300-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 engine and a 363-hp, 5.7-liter V-8. What's less clear is whether the SRT version will return with its 470-hp, 6.4-liter Hemi V-8. Given that Chrysler is now supposed to be a mainstream brand and Dodge will carry the performance torch, we weren't at all surprised when Chrysler's Gardner told our colleagues at Motor Trend that the 300 SRT could be discontinued. After all, it sold just 75 units per month this year.

Our spy photographers nevertheless spotted what appears to be an SRT version of the 2015 Chrysler 300. Its larger wheels reveal larger brakes with red-painted calipers, while enlarged round exhaust tips poke out of the rear fascia. The car's trunk is camouflaged, too, and it appears the trunklid may receive a built-in lip spoiler at its trailing edge.

For now, we'll have to wait until the 2015 Chrysler 300 makes its official debut to know for sure whether the go-fast SRT model will continue. The refreshed sedan is expected to appear at the 2014 Los Angeles auto show this November.

I've been impressed with the changes at Chrysler since Fiat took over.  The cars are better looking, better built and more desirable.  It's time to stop avoiding domestic products.  No need to follow the sheep into Asian/German showrooms.  The USA offers some fine cars for bargain prices.  
I would take the 300 over any Japanese or German car costing twice as much. There is a place for a traditional American luxury car with more room and power for half the price of the stupid-expensive "luxury" brands from overseas. My 97 LHS with 200k miles still runs strong and the interior is still solid and beautiful. I can't believe the 300 is somehow less of a car and won't be even more reliable than my wonderful LHS.
I think the only major changes this needs is in regards to the interior. It's a nice alternative to something much more expensive, but it should have the interior to match. Updates to the chassis and power train would be nice.
