Volvo is rolling out a mid-year model change for its entire lineup that now includes the company’s Sensus connectivity and infotainment system as standard on all 2015.5 Volvos including the S60, V60, XC60, S80, and XC70 models. Pricing also changes slightly for these vehicles and there are some other equipment updates.
Volvo’s standard Sensus Connect system includes smartphone connectivity services like app integration, Bluetooth, cloud-based infotainment, and a Volvo smartphone app that allows drivers to use remote start, lock/unlock, and emergency functions to communicate with the car. All Premier trim level models also now have Sensus navigation as standard, as do all versions of the Volvo S80 and T6 versions of the S60, XC60, V60, and XC70. All Platinum trim models now have a Harmon Kardon sound system as standard as well.
Volvo has also simplified the trim level structure for its models, eliminating the Premier Plus trim and leaving base, Premier, and Platinum trims for all models. This means that the Platinum trim gains some new standard equipment like keyless drive, xenon headlights, and the previously optional Technology package.
In terms of specific model changes, the 2015.5 Volvo XC60 loses the six-cylinder 3.2 AWD model, which is replaced by the T5 AWD model that uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine with 240 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque.
