GM issued another round of recalls today affecting 717,949 vehicles, including models from a wide number of brands. The recalls address various issues, ranging in severity from burned out light bulbs to suspension pieces that could separate.

2011-2012 Chevrolet Camaros, 2010-2012 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain crossovers, 2011-2012 Buick Regal and LaCrosse sedans, and 2010-2012 Cadillac SRX crossovers
The Problem:
Certain vehicles equipped with power height-adjustable driver and/or front passenger seats may have an incorrectly installed height-adjuster. The bolt which secures the adjuster may fall out, causing the seat to move up and down freely. The affected vehicles are safe to drive; GM simply suggests you do not adjust the seat height until a fix is implemented.

The Fix: GM will notify owners of affected models, and direct them to the nearest dealership for a height-adjuster bolt replacement.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 414,333 total vehicles are covered by this recall, including 2011-2012 Chevrolet Camaros, 2010-2012 model year Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain crossovers, 2011-2012 Buick Regal and LaCrosse sedans, and 2010-2012 Cadillac SRX crossovers. GM is aware of one crash and three injuries related to the faulty height-adjuster bolt, but thankfully, no fatalities.

014 Chevrolet Caprice and Chevrolet SS, 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado LD and HD; 2013-2014 Cadillac ATS, 2014 Cadillac CTS, and 2014 Cadillac ELR; 2013-2014 Buick Encore; and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra LD and HD models
The Problem:
An incomplete weld on the seat hook bracket assembly affects a wide range of vehicles from GM. According to data collected from a laser welding machine between July 2013 and January 2014, a loss of power to the machine might have caused an incomplete weld in a small number of vehicles.

The Fix: Owners will be notified and directed to a dealership at their convenience. Dealers will inspect the weld, and if it is found to be sufficient, no further action will be taken. However, if there is a fault, dealers will replace the lower seat track free of charge. GM is expecting less than 1 percent of potentially affected vehicles will require a seat track replacement.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 124,007 total vehicles fall under this recall, including model-year 2014 Chevrolet Caprice and Chevrolet SS, 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado LD and HD; 2013-2014 Cadillac ATS, 2014 Cadillac CTS, and 2014 Cadillac ELR; 2013-2014 Buick Encore; and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra LD and HD models. No crashes, injuries, or fatalities related to this fault have been reported.

2011-2013 model-year Buick Regal sedans, and the 2013 model-year Chevrolet Malibu
The Problem:
A number of Buick Regal and Chevrolet Malibu models fitted with front turn signals that use two bulbs in each front turn signal might not relay a dash warning to the driver if only one of the two bulbs burns out. If both bulbs in one headlight housing burn out, then the driver receives rapidly flashing blinker indicators on the dash; with only one burned out bulb, no warning would be conveyed.

The Fix: Owners will be notified and directed to a dealership. Dealers will reprogram the body control module to fix the potential issue.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: A total of 120,426 vehicles are being recalled for this issue, including 2011-2013 model-year Buick Regal sedans, and the 2013 model-year Chevrolet Malibu. No crashes, injuries, fatalities or complaints related to this issue have been reported.

2014 Chevrolet Impala

The Problem: A poor electrical ground connection to the Power Steering Control Module on certain 2014 Chevrolet Impalas could result in no power steering assist at initial start-up or during driving. If power steering assist is lost, a chime sounds and a warning message is displayed on the Driver Information Center. Steering capability is not lost, however, as the vehicle reverts to manual steering mode, resulting in increased effort for steering and greater input from the driver, especially at lower speeds. The cause of this poor connection is due to the potential seepage of paint from behind the ground stud.

The Fix: Owners will be notified and directed to a local dealer. The dealer will inspect and clean any paint from behind the ground nut, re-torque the nut and update the power steering control module software free of charge.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 57,242 model-year 2014 Chevrolet Impalas equipped with electric belt-drive power steering are potentially affected. GM knows of one crash, but no injuries or fatalities as a result of this issue.

2014-2015 Chevrolet Spark
The Problem:
Some Chevrolet Sparks imported from Korea were assembled with an improperly fastened lower control arm bolt. This could result in noise from the front suspension and the separation of the lower control arm from the steering knuckle during driving, resulting in a loss of steering control.

The Fix: Owners will be notified and directed to Chevrolet dealers. Dealers will inspect bolts and tighten them if need be.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 1919 model-year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Sparks are affected by this recall. No crashes, injuries, or fatalities have been reported due to this issue.

2015 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon/Yukon Denali
The Problem:
Roof carriers may have been attached with incorrect retaining nuts, resulting in holes or rips in the roof rail airbags if they deploy on certain 2015 model year SUVs.

The Fix: GM does not specify a fix for this, but knows of eight affected vehicles in dealer stock, which will promptly be repaired before being sold to the public.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 22 model-year 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon/Yukon Denali SUVs are affected by this recall.

In case you've lost track of how many recalls GM has issued this year, the automaker has provided a chart listing all of the cars that have been recalled so far in 2014. The total?
