Mopar Challenger Shaker Hood Kit
If there’s anything the Dodge Challenger has in spades, its' attitude. The Challenger’s all-business front end makes an even bolder statement with the Mopar Shaker hood kit, which customers can now buy directly from Mopar’s website or at a local Chrysler dealership.
Previously featured on the limited-run 2014 Mopar ’14 Challenger (pictured below in white), which sold out in a single day this past April, the Shaker hood kit can now be had as a stand-alone part. Within the kit are Mopar’s Shaker Induction and Shaker Hood components, which are fitted specifically for 2011-2014 Challengers powered by the hefty Hemi 5.7-liter V-8. It arrives ready for paint, and requires no drilling or special tools to install. Buyers simply replace the existing hood and bolt-on the parts.

“[The Shaker hood kit] is designed and tested according to strict Chrysler Group engineering standards to perfectly complement the production Dodge Challenger, setting the kit apart from aftermarket options,” said Mopar president and CEO Pietro Gorlier in a statement.
The functional all-aluminum Mopar Shaker hood forces high-pressure cold air into a conical air filter, part of the Induction kit, that sits beneath the hood, providing measurable performance gains, according to Mopar -- although the company has yet to announce how much power the upgrades add to the V-8 engine. For additional grunt, the Shaker hood kit is compatible with Dodge Scat Pack performance stage kits. If you’re looking for that extra bit of flair to your Hemi-powered Challenger, the Shaker hood kit retails at $2660. Tearing through the straights on your favorite back road will be all the more satisfying with the Shaker hood teetering in the foreground.
Vintage character is alive and well for Dodge Challenger fans, who can also look forward to whole new range of 2015 Dodge Challenger models headed our way. The cream of the crop is of course the 707-hp Hellcat. For 375-hp 5.7-liter V-8 versions of 2015 Challenger, a Shaker hood option will be offered later on.
