2013-2014 Chevrolet CruzeThe Problem: A faulty inflator for the driver's airbag in the 2013-2014 Chevrolet Cruze means the airbag could fail to inflate in a crash, or the inflator could rupture and propel sharp metal pieces toward the driver. General Motors says it has reports of one injury due to this problem. Last week, GM issued a stop-sale order on 2013-2014 Chevrolet Cruze models still at dealerships for this issue.
Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 29,019 2013-2014 Chevrolet Cruze models in the U.S, plus 4066 in Canada.
2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, 2015 GMC Yukon and Yukon XLThe Problem: On four-wheel-drive models, a problem with the control module for the transfer case means the system could go into neutral without any action from the driver. If the vehicle is in motion, this means no power would go to the wheels; if the vehicle is stopped and the parking brake isn't set, the vehicle could roll away. GM has no reports of injuries or crashes due to this problem.
The Fix: GM will recalibrate the software for the transfer case control module.
Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 392,459 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, and 2015 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL models in the U.S., plus 53,607 in Canada.
2013-2014 Chevrolet Caprice police vehicles, 2014 Chevrolet SSThe Problem: Over time, the gears for the windshield-wiper motor may strip, preventing the windshield wipers from functioning. GM has no reports of injuries or crashes due to this problem.
The Fix: GM dealers will inspect the windshield wiper module and, if necessary, replace it.
Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 4795 2013-2014 Chevrolet Caprice police vehicles and 2014 Chevrolet SS models sold in the U.S.
2014 Chevrolet CorvetteThe Problem: The rear shock absorbers on models with the FE1 and FE3 might have a faulty weld, meaning the shock absorbers could crack or wear prematurely.
The Fix: GM dealers will replace the two rear shock absorbers in affected models. Number Of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 1939 2014 Chevrolet Corvette models in the U.S., plus 33 in Canada and 82 in other export markets.
