Cadillac ATS-V Coupe Spied

Although we’ve already spied the upcoming high-performance ATS-V sport sedan testing on multiple occasions, spy shooters recently caught the ATS-V coupe in action. Despite the camouflage wrapping and vinyl covers, we can spot various visual cues on the prototype shared with the upcoming ATS-V and CTS-V sedans.

Like the Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V sedans we’ve spotted testing, the ATS-V coupe appears to feature a similarly aggressive front end aero package. An extended lower spoiler frames the widened front air intakes, positioned beneath the prototype’s large, thick-slatted vertical grille. Big-brother CTS-V exhibits essentially the same styling with bigger proportions, and both models looks to employ a prominent hood scoop to feed their high-output engines with plenty of oxygen.

Around the rear we can see that black vinyl wrapping likely obscures a tall rear trunk spoiler, but we can clearly see the ATS-V’s robust rear diffuser and quad exhaust. Wider fenders, bigger brakes, and a lower ride height are also part of the package.

The car’s overall shape mirrors that of the ATS coupe we saw at the 2014 Detroit show, but what’s under the hood is still a mystery. The prevailing rumor is that the ATS-V will utilize a higher-output version of the 410-hp, 3.6-liter twin-turbo V-6 seen in the Cadillac CTS Vsport and XTS Vsport. On the other hand, we’ve also heard whispers of a twin-turbo V-6 displacing 3.2-liters. Ostensibly, the dip in displacement would make for a stronger tuning platform above the lofty 500-hp mark.

If the Cadillac ATS-V coupe does arrive with more than 500 horsepower, it will substantially overpower the 425-hp BMW M4. Through the grape vine there’s already speculation that the larger CTS-V will out-muscle the 560-hp BMW M5 and 577-hp Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG with a supercharged 625-hp, 6.3-liter V-8 sourced from the Corvette Z06. If both V-spec models arrive as we hope, it’ll be tough to beat Cadillac’s commitment to all-out power and performance.

I shorted out my keyboard from drooling.   Bring it to 'em already Cadillac!!!!!  Can't wait to see without the camo.
I don't care how long it takes I want one. I just wish they'd give it the naturally aspirated 6.2 V8, but I'll take it with the twin turbo V6.
Look how long it takes to get these to market. Audi,BMW, Mercedes even Lexus, come out with models and performance models, during the concept process. That way when it does come to market in its base form, they will have enough time to work out the performance bugs in the sport model. This is what is wrong with Cadillac. The time it takes to bring a car to market, the opposition has flooded the market with several.
There next model is the LTS, I hope they are working alongside with the LTS V series, and not take two long years to wait for it.
@Vinnie82 The CTS just hit the market in November '13.  Where is the long delay you refer to?
