2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Wagon Revealed

Mercedes-Benz is one of the few automakers today that actually offers a real station wagon in the U.S.—the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Now the company has revealed the surprisingly stylish wagon variant of the redesigned 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and we’ve found a new favorite long-roof Benz to fawn over.

Sadly, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate (as it’s called in Europe), will not be joining its big brother in Mercedes-Benz’s U.S. wagon lineup, as U.S. representatives told us it’s not in the cards for our market. That’s a shame, especially now that the luxury wagon segment has started to make a bit of a comeback with newer models like the Audi Allroad, BMW 3-Series wagon, and Volvo V60. Instead, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will initially launch in the U.S. this September in sedan form only, in either C300 4Matic or C400 4Matic versions at first with standard C300 and spicy C63 AMG variants to follow.

Like the 2015 C-Class sedan, this redesigned wagon version is much larger than the previous-generation C-Class, growing to make more room for the entry-level CLA-Class to slot below in the model lineup. It features a much more luxurious interior than before with many design cues taken from the S-Class flagship sedan, as well as a new COMAND touchpad for the infotainment system. As you’d expect, the wagon plays up the practicality factor with split-folding 40/20/40 rear seats that make for a configurable cargo area and flat load floor when the seats are completely folded.

In Europe, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate will feature a wide range of diesel and gasoline engines producing between 115 hp and 333 hp. There is also a C300 BlueTec diesel-electric hybrid that achieves the equivalent of 61 mpg.

Although this Benz wagon may be forbidden fruit for U.S. customers, check out some photos of this sleek cargo hauler in the gallery below.

Damn, yet again we loose.  Those wide bodied Americans can't fit in anything less than a truck.  This wagon is exactly what I'm looking for.  The BMW is way too common these days.  the Volvo is suspect because if its Chinese ownership.  What other wagons remain to pick from?

As lovely as any of the iconic, successful and memorable MB wagons. Minus the last big-butt iteration of the E class wagon. And the TWO generations of E class blobs before that one. Actually, I guess what I mean is that, when wagons are designed with proportional awareness in mind, they sell. When wagons look dumpy, have uninspiring engines and transmissions, they don't sell. I wonder just how difficult it really is to offer an attractive wagon, with adventurous engine options and manual transmissions.

Wow, this is a great looking wagon. I'm American and would love to have this estate for sale here. Americans need to get their heads on straight and start realizing that wagons are a better overall offering than SUV's. Not many people actually need off-road capability. Wagons drive better than suv's, as they are still cars underneath.
