2015 Kia Optima Starts At $22,450

A year after it was refreshed at the 2013 New York auto show, the Kia Optima receives a few minor updates for the 2015 model year. As a result, the car's base price inches up by $150-$200, depending on trim level.

The new model year also brings several equipment changes for the Kia Optima. A quieter, acoustic-laminated windshield is now standard on all models, but previously was exclusive to the high-end SX-Limited. The cruise-control switches have been repositioned on the right-hand side of the steering wheel, the Optima LX now offers a black cloth interior, a new Smokey Blue exterior paint color joins the palette, while Sparkling Silver and Platinum Graphite paints replace Bright Silver and Metal Bronze, respectively. The 2015 Kia Optima's optional UVO eServices telematics function also is updated to add four new features: Geo Fencing, Driving Score, Speed Alerts, and Curfew Alerts.

The 2015 Kia Optima LX and EX both see their sticker prices climb $150 compared to last year, to $22,450 and $24,900, respectively, with destination. The Optima SX's price of $28,500 represents a $200 jump over the 2014 model. All three of those trim levels come with a 192-hp, 2.4-liter inline-four engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The Optima SX Turbo and SX Limited, which both use a 274-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, receive price increases of $200. The former now starts at $28,500 and the latter at $36,300.
